BIOGRAPHY: ABOUT ANDY
I'm a South Hills native, born and raised in Whitehall, and a Mt. Lebanon resident for more than seven years. My father, John Reinhart, was a pediatrician and child psychiatrist at Children’s Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh for more than thirty years.
My father and mother, Helen, raised my five brothers and sisters and me with a strong work ethic, and the understanding that we have a responsibility to give back to our community. They were (and continue to be) tremendous role models for me.
I attended college at the University of Notre Dame, and graduated with a degree in history. One of the most important lessons I learned at Notre Dame was that education is intended not only to help you do well in life, but also to do good. For that reason, I decided to become a lawyer. I enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where I graduated in 1989.
After serving a judicial clerkship and several years of practice in Pittsburgh law firms, I joined three colleagues to form our own law firm in 1998. Our firm, now known as Kelly Hayden LLC, represents clients from individuals and small businesses to large corporations. My partners and I have built a reputation for integrity and professionalism, qualities I will bring to the job of Mt. Lebanon commissioner.
On the personal side, I’m married to Laura Nerone Reinhart, also an attorney and South Hills native. We moved into our current home on Navahoe Drive in 2002, and have since welcomed two daughters into our family. (A third child is due right after Election Day!) We belong to St. Anne’s Catholic Church, only a few blocks from our house.
Laura and I love living in Mt. Lebanon. Local traditions such as the Halloween Parade, 4th of July activities, and visits to Mt. Lebanon’s beautiful parks and library have become family favorites. We especially enjoy the quiet, winding residential streets of the 3rd Ward, as well as its proximity to shopping, restaurants, and Pittsburgh attractions. We look forward to seeing our children attend Foster School and progress in the Mt. Lebanon School District.
I hope to have the opportunity to give back to a community that has meant so much to me, by serving Mt. Lebanon as its 3rd Ward commissioner.
